Ivory Kelly was born in Sittee River Village. At age 11, she relocated to Belize City where she completed primary and secondary school. Since then, she has spent a great deal of time away from her birthplace but always maintains close ties with it. A lover of all things Belizean, Kelly has often featured both Sittee River Village and Belize City in her writings. She is the author of Pengereng and Point of Order: Poetry and Prose. Her work has also been featured in several journals and anthologies across the Americas and the Caribbean.
